Executive Chef Hassan M’soul has been creating delicious food for over 20 years to the people of Manly and enticing palates worldwide. The art of hospitality is legendary in Morocco, let Hassan M’soul and Out of Africa treat you to your own unique dining experience. Out of Africa and Hassan have also featured on radio and in newspapers and magazines across the globe all complimenting style, atmosphere, food and service. Hassan is also authored of two Moroccan Cookbooks and is the beginning Moroccan to publish a recipe book on Moroccan Cuisine in Australia. In April 2010 Hassan was honored with a letter from the King of Morocco Mohamed VI congratulating him as an excellent ambassador for the country and truly showing Morocco proud. Both of his books are available to buy at the restaurant. We are constantly buying and helping local businesses and organic farmers, with locally sourced produce. His passion for cooking evolved in his mother’s kitchen at a young age and he pursued that passion along with those of acting and teaching. Hassan’s decision to depart family and friends after him brought him to the shores of Sydney he wanted to be as far away from familiarity as feasible to begin an exciting journey in life, in a fresh and hard environment. He began his life and found his dreams in Sydney. Whilst occupied in various kitchens including French, Italian and Indian restaurants it was not long prior he started teaching the Chef’s Moroccan and North African dishes and introduced the use of exotic spices, some of which they had never heard of. African and North African cuisine was something new and exciting in Sydney and realizing that this type of restaurant was far and few between Hassan saw and opportunity to introduce a unique taste that Sydney had never seen before. They decided to go into business together and in 1986 The Mosquito Bar opened its doors. Suddenly the people of Sydney were introduced to the unique taste of Morocco and fresh and exotic flavors, such as the very beginning Clever Preserved Lemon, Dukkah, RVs Al handout, Couscous, coriander and mint, something maximum Australians had never seen the likes of before. The Mosquito Prohibit was a successful restaurant for five years when Hassan, who had been living on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, decided to step out on his own and in 1990 he opened up the beginning Moroccan restaurant in the iconic Sydney suburb Manly, Casablanca. Once again this was met with a big wave of success. In 1995 he was offered the accurate location to open up a new restaurant, opposite Manly Ward where Out of Africa was born and is calm hugely prosperous to this day nearly 20 years on. Hassan divides his time between various TelevisionRadio appearances Magazine and Newspaper interviews, writing a weekly coloum Lin two of Morocco’s leading Newspaper and Magazines. He has also launched his very own range of sauces and spices. Hassan kindly donates his time to teach the youth about the diversity of food at schools and also to help families struggling at Yield Cottage receive their minds off solid times. More recently pioneered a fund raising dinner with the 3 Mayors of the Northern Beaches at the world famous International College of Management to raise funds for Ebola victims which was a tremendous success.
