The Strategic Plan reflects an ambitious vision for the arts in Australia and comprises four goals. We invest in artistic excellence through support for all facets of the clever process and are committed to the arts being more accessible to all Australians. The Australia Council for the Arts is overseen by the Council Board (Board). The Board is appointed by the Minister for the Arts and comprises a range of expertise across artistic practice, arts management, business, management, public policy, corporate governance and administration, regional issues, gender, multicultural and Indigenous community participation in the arts, finance, philanthropy, legal affairs, corporate strategy and research. These plans seek to articulate how, over the coming four year period, we will strive to attain our Vision of Australia being recognized as a culturally busy nation, and our Purpose, to champion and invest in Australian arts. The Council also undertakes strategic development work to elevate the profile of Australian arts and to develop new markets and audiences for our artists across Australia and around the globe. Together we have realized unforgettable original experiences, and supported the talents of outstanding artists who have enriched the lives of Australians everywhere. The Council's 201519 Strategic Plan A Culturally Busy Nation sets out bold aspirations for the artistic and cultural life of our nation, and the role we play in realizing them.
