MakeAWish has more than 1100 volunteers across Australia with diverse backgrounds, skills, and experience. To become a volunteer you simply need to be 18 years or older, and to be an event helper you need to be 16 years and over. We comprehend many of our volunteers also have work, family and social commitments. Other time commitments depend on the number of fund raising activities and wishes the volunteer branch currently has in operation. Behind every wish is a team of dedicated individuals committed to granting the prized wishes of seriously ill children and making the impossible possible. He has worked closely with staff on many projects over the years. Professionally Russell has experience in marketing, brand and sales and will bring vast wisdom and skill to the board. Volunteer Board Representative Vickie has been a volunteer with the Barossa Valley branches for the former 15 years where she has held many leadership roles in the branch. Professionally she has 20 years experience in the education sector, particularly busy with children between 5 and 19 years. Qantas MakeAWish is arrogant to have Qantas as our official airline partner. Qantas assists with flights for wishes involving travel, helping us to grant more and more wishes each year. With travel being the largest cost associated with granting MakeAWish wishes, we are jubilant to have them on board. Chloe, 7, living with severe cerebral palsy, wished to spend more time in the garden with her sister and brother. So Chloe wished for her own special outdoor haven, where she can play and join in on the fun with her siblings. Every time Chloe comes home now she wants to go straight exterior to her cabby, says mum.
