Oobi is a boutique Sydney based childrenswear and accessories label with a passion for timeless, charming and colourful designs. We believe in creating clothing that allows children to be children. A philosophy that will always be a guiding principle for us. Oobi was voted Australia’s Favourite Childrenswear Label in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 by the influential industry website KidStyleFile.  Oobi was also voted Australia and New Zealand’s Favourite Childrenswear label in 2010 and 2011 by the readers of Kids Fashion Review, a wonderful fashion directory and website based in New Zealand. Founder and designer Alexandra Riggs had no idea she was sowing the seeds of Oobi’s beginning as she happily played dress ups in her grandmother and mother’s closets as a small child.  Season after season of gorgeous girls dresses and beautiful outfits, gifts and accessories for girls, boys and babies. Oobi grew from a spare bedroom and market stall into the label it is today through Alex’s passion for colour, design and discerning eye. Each day at Oobi is filled with fun, laughter, music and passion. This is reflected in the designs and also in the community that we’re proud to be such an important part of. You only have to join Facebook to feel the genuine warmth and passion the Oobi community has created and nurtured. Less a business and more a family, our goals include keeping doing what we’re doing and giving back through various social responsibility avenues.  Oh, and somehow bringing back the mechanical panda we saw in a Tokyo fairground in 2009. For us it doesn’t get any funnier than the thought of Oobi Ben carrying a tray of tea, cake and biscuits whilst singing the ‘Everything Stops for Tea’ song on the back of a giant mechanical panda.
