What you should know about Smooth
12 years ago best friends Cathy McQuade and Amanda Owens joined forces to create Smooth. In a time when many fashion businesses are doing it tough, we are growing. And our dedication seems to be rewarded. Our simple plan has been to just keep making our garments better; never to rest on our laurels to source or design the most exquisite fabrics.
It has been an amazing journey from humble market stalls to the gorgeous Queen Victoria Building. We continue to this day to work at least once a week in our shop to gain that valuable feedback of seeing the garments on bodies and hear what our customers think.
In many ways our business has grown by listening to what our customers want. Both were already working as designers, but were hearing continuing complaints that no designers were designing for older or larger women. (more).
