I am interested in finding the mobilty that can come out of difficult life experiences. The experiences of hurt and pain tend to be restrictive and limiting. My focus is on the empowerment that can come from allowing vulnerability, at the same time as holding clear boundaries. I am oriented towards resilience, and see that the ownership of judgement can have a useful place in relationship and psychotherapy. I see that most problems arise as a result of a lack of self knowledge. In my work with adults, especially those around authenticity, my interests are in the application of existential ideas, and responsiblity. I then studied in the usa with dr violet oaklander who has been at the forefront of child psychotherapy for 40 years. I went on to complete a grad dip of gestalt therapy. I explored the somatic approach of stanely keleman, and also learned with dr julie henderson. I then studied somatic and relational therapy with dr chris campbell. I enjoyed the interaction with the children, and the focus of considering and responding to their developmental needs. *** my first career was as an early childhood educator. It�??s about recognising your limitations, and developing your strengths. What�??s more effective is to know more deeply who you are, and find ways to express that �?? honestly, and skillfully. Being more of yourself change is overated. It�??s more than talking; we experiment so you can make your own discoveries. Therapy can offer interesting and creative ways to get unstuck.
