These small group parenting seminars are an opportunity for health professionals to flourish their aptitude to apply Bowen Family Systems theory by reflecting on the how, what, when and where of their role as parents. Jo was first drawn to the ideas of Murray Bowen during initial training in family therapy. Ideas from Bowen’s Family Systems Theory have underpinned both her work with clients and the supervision of clinical staff for many years. Having undertaken her own family of origin coaching, Jo continues to apply these principles to her relationships with extended family as a complement to her professional work. The mission of the Institute is to prosper and apply family systems theory, as developed by Dr Murray Bowen, to assist people in their efforts to improve relationships. A venue for therapists and others to explore their own family of origin in order to increase differentiation levels, is also an crucial offering for personal and professional development. Family of Origin Coaching assists the participant to be a researcher in their own family of origin and to understand their position and those of other family members, in the pattern of relationships.
